Personal Profile

A passionate and committed individual with a vast wealth of experience in the information, advice and guidance sector with both Adults and young people. Also has experience as a trainer and independent consultant. After surviving a serious stroke nearly 13 years ago has proven resilience and the ability to cope with challenging circumstances. Empathic and self motivated, flexible and approachable, is looking for a challenging position where all skills and knowledge can be utilised.

  • Ran the household on a day-to-day basis.
  • Took responsibility for daily organisation of son and daughter.
  • Supported wife in her career and personal development.

Position: Personal Adviser

  • Lead role in Friars School, supported statemented young people, their parents and other professionals involved. Worked with colleagues in a number of mainstream schools.
  • Liaised with organisations including: Children's Disability Service; Transition and Liaison Team; Colleges and a range of specialist organisations.
  • Responsible for supporting NEET clients into positive destinations in education training or work.

  • Developed and ran training courses for front line staff from libraries, voluntary organisations and adult education under contract to the local Information, Advise and Guidance partnership (IAGS)

  • Contracted by Learning for Life Beds and Luton to provide redundancy support at Rolls Royce in Bedford, outreach service through SRB Funding and Drop-in service at Bedford Library
  • Within this period held a temporary contract with Jobcentre Plus, working alongside the Disability Employment Adviser in Northampton, this involved supporting adults with disabilities to make career decisions and access help through the Workstep and Work preparation schemes
